I think my problem is getting a network connection setup with the new Network adaptors from being in a new PC. I have license keys and that's not a problem. I am unable to modify any network settings in Safemode or Safemode with Command Prompt and I am unable to boot the computer normally or in Safemode with Networking due to not being activated. I have checked in my networking equipment and do not see this computers hostname listed as an active device.
On that WikiHow I get all the way to step 17 while in Safemode with Command Prompt, but I am unable to run Activation in Safemode, so I reboot out and get to the activation screen, then I am able to proceed with steps 21-27 but step 28 fails because I think I don't have an active internet connection. This computer is for an older person to use that isn't all that tech savvy (hence why I'm attempting to fix his problem), so I fear trying to run it as a VM would be too much for him to handle. Unfortunately I think the problem I face with both of these is that my computer is not establishing a network connection.
Does anyone know how to reset activation permanently through safe mode with command prompt? Thanks! I have tried calling and giving the long number, but that always fails. I have access to safe mode with command prompt, Is there some in depth way for me to reset this permanently? This computer has never been connected to the internet therefore it has no internet drivers since the MB failure and I am unable to go through and enter in a license key. I have done this my 3 times and can no longer get into this machine to use the CAD software. Little did I know from the beginning (How stupid of me), that this can only be done 3 times. After the 30 days I booted into safe mode and ran the command to reset the activation for 30 more days.
I put the hard drive into a new machine and it booted up fine and worked, however this unlicensed Windows and I had 30 days to activate. Before I start mentioning my problems, I would like to state that reinstalling windows is not an option and neither is upgrading due to CAD software I am trying to save that can no longer be installed or licensed.īasically what my issue is that I had a MB fail in my XP machine with CAD software that I need for my CNC.
